Marie Ubiles

Ms. Marie Ubiles is a Patent Specialist assisting in patent drafting and prosecution. She also assists the firm in patent related searches and analysis. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a Patent Specialist with Patenting Consulting Group and as a Patent Analyst at Landon-IP where she specialized in Patent Cooperation Treaty matters. Ms. Ubiles worked as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) for over two years in various electrical, electronics, telecommunications technologies. In addition, Ms. Ubiles worked for Verizon Communications overseeing all voice & data transport for the Manhattan, NY network operations division.

Ms. Ubiles' area of practice is directed to telecommunication-related technology: Advanced Intelligent Networks, DTMF detection, call routing, automatic call distributors, special services, cellular and satellite communications, VoIP, and Ad-Hoc Networks (Bluetooth, 802.11).

Ms. Ubiles is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the Asociación de Profesionales de la Propiedad Intelectual de Puerto Rico.

Ms. Ubiles graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, School of Engineering where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.
